What we collect
- Your account — your name, email address and profile photo. If you sign in with Google we receive these from your Google account; we don't receive your Google password.
- What you put into the program — your daily habits and checklist, priorities, mission, vision and pillars, morning notes, and reflections, including voice recordings, their transcripts, and the mood and energy you record.
- The diagnostic — if you take the diagnostic, your email, optional Instagram handle, your answers, your written reflection and your result.
- Coaching calls — when your coach connects their call recorder (Fathom), the recording link, transcript and summary of calls with you.
- Notifications — if you turn notifications on, a push address for that device, the reminders you chose, and when you last opened the app (so we don't remind you to start your day when you already have).
- Technical data — the essential cookies that keep you signed in, a few preferences saved in your browser (such as a chosen view), and the standard logs our hosting keeps to run the service securely.
We don't use advertising, we don't sell your data, and we don't use third-party analytics or tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To run the program: show your day, score your habits, keep your book and your history, and send the reminders you asked for.
- To let your coach support you: your coach sees your program data, reflections, calls and progress. Other members never see them.
- To summarise and organise what you write and say: reflections and call transcripts may be read by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude) to produce summaries, tags and a first draft of your book. That text is sent only to produce the result for you and your coach; Anthropic does not use it to train its models.
- To email coaches when a new diagnostic is completed, and to email you when your coach books a call (with its meeting link, if they add one).
- To keep the service secure and working.
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on performing our agreement with you (running the program you joined), on our legitimate interest in running and securing the service, and on your consent where we ask for it (for example, notifications, which you can switch off at any time).
Google user data
Sign in with Google. We receive your name, email address and profile photo to create and identify your account.
Nous's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is not sold, not used for advertising, not used to train AI models, and not shared with anyone except as needed to provide sign-in or as required by law; it is never sent to our AI provider.
Who we share it with
Only the providers that run Nous for us, each under their own data-protection terms:
- Supabase — database, sign-in and file storage (reflection audio, photos).
- Vercel — hosting.
- Anthropic — AI summaries of reflections and calls, and the first draft of the book.
- Fathom — call recording, when the coach uses it.
- Google — sign-in.
- Resend — sending emails.
- Your browser's push service (such as Apple, Google or Mozilla) — delivering notifications you turned on.
Some of these providers process data outside your country, including in the United States; where the GDPR applies, transfers rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. We may also disclose data if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account exists, so your history is there when you come back to it. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your data, except anything we must keep by law; copies held in backups are removed as those backups expire.
Your choices and rights
- Change your name and photo, and your notifications, in Settings; turn push off for a device at any time.
- Edit or delete what you've written, including reflections, in the app.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive it in a portable format.
- Where the GDPR applies, you can also complain to your data-protection authority.
To make a request, contact us through edodaves.com or ask your coach, who will pass it on. We'll answer within a month.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to you and your coach by database rules, and connection keys (such as Fathom's) are stored encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell you if a breach affects you.
Children
Nous is for adults. It isn't meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app or by email if the change is significant.
